Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday strongly condemned the attack on BJP karyakartas in Khowai district, stating that politics should never be driven by muscle power and that such practices must end.

Dr. Saha made these remarks after visiting GB Pant Hospital, where three injured BJP workers from the Asarambhari Mandal are currently receiving treatment.

“Several karyakartas were injured when miscreants attacked them during the 124th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme. I visited the injured workers at GBP Hospital, inquired about their condition, and directed the medical staff to ensure the best possible treatment,” said the Chief Minister.

He alleged that Tipra Motha supporters were responsible for the attack, during which nine motorcycles and two additional vehicles were vandalised.

“It’s very unfortunate and completely unacceptable. We want to move away from such violent politics,” Dr. Saha said. “People had gathered in Asarambhari to listen to the Prime Minister. Suddenly, this unprovoked attack took place.”

Dr. Saha reiterated that such acts will not be tolerated and assured that the police have been directed to take appropriate legal action.

“We have seen 35 years of violent political history, but we are striving to maintain a peaceful and democratic environment. Politics can’t be conducted with intimidation or force. I have made this clear wherever required—we want calm, responsible, and peaceful politics,” he added.
