In an effort to promote road safety and enhance public awareness about traffic regulations, the local Traffic Department organized a special traffic awareness campaign in Dharmanagar. The programme was conducted in the presence of Abvinash Rai, Superintendent of Police of North District, along with school students.

Students from the NSS (National Service Scheme) unit of Shribhumi Vidyabhavan Higher Secondary School actively participated in the campaign as part of their seven-day special NSS camp.

During the awareness drive, volunteers educated the public on the importance of following traffic rules, wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers, fastening seat belts, and avoiding driving under the influence of alcohol. The campaign also emphasized responsible road behaviour to reduce accidents and save lives.

Speaking about the initiative, officials said that a significant number of road accidents involve pedestrians and two-wheeler riders. They stressed that creating greater public awareness is one of the most effective ways to prevent accidents and reduce fatalities.

The awareness campaign, carried out with the enthusiastic participation of school students, received a positive response from residents across Dharmanagar, highlighting the community's growing commitment to road safety.
