Minister Calls for Lighting of ‘Blessing Lamps’ on PM Modi’s Birthday

Tripura Animal Resources Development, Fisheries and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das has appealed to citizens across the state to light a ‘Blessing Lamp’ at their homes at 6:30 pm tomorrow as part of the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ being organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

In a video message on Wednesday, the minister said Prime Minister Modi’s birthday is observed every year through various service-oriented programmes. He said this year carries special significance as the Prime Minister has completed nearly 25 years in public service, governance and public welfare.

Das noted that Narendra Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and has been serving as the Prime Minister of the country since 2014.

He said several welfare initiatives and development programmes have been implemented during this period, particularly for the poor and underprivileged sections of society. To commemorate the Prime Minister’s birthday, the ‘Blessing Lamp’ programme has been planned, he said.

The minister appealed to people to light lamps at their homes at 6:30 pm and pray for the Prime Minister’s good health, long life and continued strength and dedication in serving the people.

He also urged beneficiaries of various government schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Poshan Abhiyaan and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, besides beneficiaries of self-employment and livelihood programmes, to participate in the initiative.

“Those who have benefited from various Central government schemes over the past few years should light a ‘Blessing Lamp’ at their homes at 6:30 pm tomorrow and pray for the Prime Minister,” Das said.

He added that people and beneficiaries of government schemes could later gather at local Nat Mandirs, community halls or temples to offer prayers and light lamps collectively.

Appealing to citizens of the Fatikroy Assembly constituency as well as people across Tripura to participate, Das said the Prime Minister has been working towards the development of the country and the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The minister said he would also light a ‘Blessing Lamp’ tomorrow evening and urged citizens to join the initiative by praying for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life.
