Frustration over the persistent drinking water crisis in Kachuchhara spilled onto the streets on Tuesday as local residents organized a road blockade demanding an immediate and permanent solution.

Residents alleged that the area has been facing an acute shortage of safe drinking water for an extended period. Despite several appeals to the administration and the concerned authorities, no effective action has been taken to address the issue.

As a mark of protest, locals carrying buckets and water containers blocked the main road, disrupting normal traffic movement in the area. The agitation led to heavy congestion, leaving numerous vehicles stranded on both sides of the road and causing inconvenience to commuters and pedestrians alike.

The blockade severely affected the vital Ambassa-Kamalpur route, regarded as the region’s second major lifeline, resulting in traffic disruption across nearby areas as well.

Following the incident, police and administrative officials reached the spot to pacify the protesters and assured them that necessary measures would be taken to solve the water crisis. However, several protesters maintained that the demonstration would continue until the authorities provide a written commitment for a permanent resolution.

The ongoing scarcity of drinking water has sparked widespread anger among local residents, who warned that failure to take swift action could further worsen the situation in the coming days.
