Khowai District Police has clarified that reports and social media posts alleging the presence of “Zombie Drug” in the district are completely false and misleading.

According to an official statement issued by the police, a detailed enquiry was conducted through the SDPOs of Khowai and Teliamura subdivisions. The investigation found no complaint, FIR, seizure, arrest, or medically confirmed case linked to any so-called “zombie drug” anywhere in Khowai district till date.

Police further stated that inputs collected from the Health Department and sister intelligence agencies also revealed no evidence of such substances being circulated in the district.

The clarification comes in response to a viral video circulating on social media, which claimed that a person seen in the footage was under the influence of a “Zombie Drug.” However, enquiry conducted by Khowai Police Station established that the individual was actually under the influence of alcohol, a fact reportedly confirmed by local eyewitnesses.

Khowai District Police urged the public not to believe or circulate unverified information that may create panic or spread misinformation.

The police reiterated their commitment to the mission of “Nasha Mukta Tripura” and assured that strict enforcement, surveillance, and awareness measures against all narcotic substances will continue across the district.
