A 69-year-old fisherman, Narayan Shukla Das, drowned in the Dumbur Reservoir aay morning while out fishing. He had gone to the reservoir early in the day but did not return home, raising concern among family members and local residents.

A search operation was immediately launched by villagers, but no trace of him was found on Saturday.

On Sunday around 12:30 PM, his body was spotted floating near the Tithamukh area of the reservoir. The incident took place at Dumboor Lake in Tripura.

Following the discovery, authorities were informed. Fire and emergency services personnel from Jatanbari, along with officers from the Naba Bazaar Police Station, reached the spot. The body was recovered and transported to Naba Bazaar Rural Hospital, where it was later sent for post-mortem examination.

The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over the Tithamukh and Karoichhara areas, with local residents mourning the sudden death of the elderly fisherman.
