Work on an integrated eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and water park project at Sachindranagar Colony under the Jirania subdivision in West Tripura will begin soon, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced today.

According to the minister, the ambitious project—designed on the lines of Kolkata’s famous Nicco Park—aims to elevate Tripura’s tourism potential while generating substantial employment opportunities for local youth. 

He noted that tourism is a key pillar in the state government’s vision of building a self-reliant and progressive Tripura.

Chowdhury emphasized that the new park will enhance Tripura’s presence on the global tourism map, making the state a more inviting destination for travelers from across India and abroad.

To accelerate the project, the minister visited the proposed site earlier today, accompanied by Tourism Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Director Prashant Badal Negi, social worker Ranjit Roy Chowdhury, and various public representatives from the Jirania region. The team inspected the land and discussed essential groundwork needed for the timely start of construction.

Terming the field visit an important milestone, the minister expressed optimism that the upcoming park will emerge as a major attraction and significantly contribute to economic activity in the area once completed.
