On the occasion of Rash Purnima, a 3-day Brahmakunda Fair will be held from November 5 to 7, for which Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath today chaired a preparatory meeting.
The meeting was held at the Nat Mandir of the Shiv Temple adjacent to the Brahmakunda Gram Panchayat Office.
Later, after the meeting, the Minister informed that the Brahmakunda Mela is a historic fair which takes place twice a year one on the occasion of Rash Purnima and the other during Ashoka Ashtami.
“The mela will be starting from the 5th. This is a mela where both tribal and non-tribal people gather to celebrate. To conclude this mela properly, we have held a meeting. On the 6th and 7th, the fair will be held, and the 7th will be the last day. The main mela takes place in the month of Chaitra, but this mela is also very big. That is why, in a beautiful way, regardless of party affiliation, we have held this meeting. With everyone’s cooperation, we will organize this mela in a beautiful and disciplined way. The SDM and other officials were present along with other public representatives,” he said.
It was decided in the meeting that exhibition pavilions will be opened at the fair on the initiative of various departments.
Cultural programs will be organized every evening under the initiative of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department.
In the meeting, Minister advised the sub-committees to work responsibly and sought the cooperation of all concerned to make the fair a complete success.
Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Brisaketu Debbarma, TTAADC Executive Member (Education) Rabindra Debbarma, Tripura Tea Development Corporation Chairman Sameer Ranjan Ghosh, Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Rakesh Deb, Hejamara BAC Chairman Sunil Debbarma, Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Administrator Sajal Debnath, Additional Sub-Divisional Administrator Dhriti Shekhar Roy, social worker Binod Debbarma and others were present at the meeting.
