Newly elected BJP MLA from Dharmanagar, Jahar Chakraborty, took oath as a member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly today at the Assembly lobby. Speaker of the Assembly, Ram Pada Jamatia, administered the oath of office to him.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha extended his greetings and congratulations to MLA Jahar Chakraborty through social media.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Chief Whip Kalyani Roy, cabinet ministers, MLAs from different political parties, and representatives of opposition parties CPI(M) and Congress.

After taking oath, Jahar Chakraborty said that the development of Dharmanagar constituency would be his top priority. He also stated that maintaining law and order would be one of the major objectives during his tenure as MLA.
