Tripura University took part in the “New Age Fibre” demonstration programme held in New Delhi on 19 May 2026. The event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Textiles and the National Jute Board.

The programme witnessed participation from leading textile industries and renowned research institutes from across the country, focusing on innovations in sustainable and advanced fibre technologies. Tripura University showcased its research achievements and innovative work in the field of emerging fibre technology.

Significantly, Tripura University was the only university invited to present its work alongside major textile research institutes and industrial organizations, highlighting the institution’s growing reputation in textile and fibre research.

Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh appreciated the university’s contribution during his concluding address and specially mentioned the work being carried out by Tripura University in the area of new-age fibres.

The university’s participation at the national-level event reflects its commitment to research, innovation, and sustainable technological development in the textile sector.
