A tragic incident in the Kadamtali area under Bishalgarh Police Station claimed the life of a two-and-a-half-year-old child after he accidentally drowned in a nearby pond on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Ismail Hossain. According to family members, Ismail’s mother, Sharmila Begum, had been living at her parental home for around three years due to family disputes. She earns her livelihood by working as a security guard.

On Thursday morning, Sharmila reportedly left for work after entrusting her son to the care of relatives. During this time, the child was playing near the house and allegedly fell into the pond unnoticed.

After the family members discovered what had happened, they immediately pulled Ismail out of the water and rushed him to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Ismail’s father, Iman Hossain, is a resident of the Karai Mura area. The heartbreaking death of the young child has left the family and local residents in deep shock and mourning.

Family members later informed the media about the tragic incident.
