Aspirants awaiting recruitment to the post of Fireman have once again submitted a deputation to the Fire Services Department, demanding the immediate declaration of results and completion of the recruitment process. They have warned of launching a larger agitation if their demands remain unaddressed.
According to the aspirants, the recruitment notification for the posts of Fireman and Driver was issued in 2022, following which physical tests and written examinations were conducted. While the recruitment process for the Driver posts has already been completed, the results for the Fireman posts are yet to be declared.
The aspirants expressed frustration over the prolonged delay, pointing out that nearly four years have passed since the recruitment process began, with no clarity on the outcome for Fireman candidates.
They demanded that the department declare the results without further delay and complete the recruitment process at the earliest. They also appealed to Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha to intervene and take up the matter seriously so that a decision can be reached at the earliest.
The aspirants warned that if their demands are not met promptly, they would be compelled to intensify their agitation in the coming days.
