Residents of Gabordi under Jampuijala RD Block have urged the authorities to take immediate steps to repair the badly damaged road in the area and address the long-standing shortage of drinking water.
Around 70–80 families reside in the area, while the road is regularly used by residents travelling towards Mohanpur and Golaghati. According to locals, several portions of the road have remained in poor condition for a prolonged period, causing serious inconvenience to daily commuters.
The problem becomes more acute during the monsoon, when damaged stretches of the road reportedly become difficult to navigate. Residents said the poor road condition also creates difficulties during emergencies, particularly when patients need to be taken to hospitals or other healthcare facilities.
Alongside the road problem, residents have raised concerns over inadequate drinking water supply. Several families, they said, have been facing difficulties in accessing sufficient potable water for years. They have appealed to the concerned department to ensure a regular and adequate supply and find a permanent solution to the issue.
The residents also pointed to the upcoming Village Council elections, which are being held after a long gap, and expressed concern over the pace of development in the locality. They claimed that several development expectations raised after the Assembly elections have yet to be fully reflected on the ground.
Locals have appealed to the concerned departments and elected representatives, including the area MLA, to intervene promptly. They have particularly sought repair and upgrading of the road connecting Gabordi with Mohanpur and Golaghati, along with measures to ensure a dependable drinking water supply.
Residents said timely intervention could bring relief to families who have been facing these basic infrastructure problems for several years.
