Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today reviewed the progress of various development projects undertaken by the Transport Department across the state under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme and other funding sources.

The review was held on the last day of 2025, marking an important assessment of the department’s achievements during the year.

Chairing an important meeting at the Conference Hall of the Secretariat, the Minister said that development initiatives are currently underway at different motor stands, District Transport Offices (DTOs), the Transport Commissioner’s building, and other key locations across Tripura. The meeting focused on evaluating the physical and financial progress of the projects, timelines for completion, and challenges related to funding.

“The Transport Department conducts review meetings every three months. Today’s discussion was particularly significant as it helped us assess where we stand at the end of 2025 on the projects initiated this year,” Chowdhury said. He expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, stating that most projects are progressing in full swing across the state.

According to the Minister, officials and executing agencies informed the meeting that the majority of the ongoing works are expected to be completed within the next five months. Financial issues related to the projects were also discussed in detail to ensure timely completion without hurdles.

Chowdhury credited the progress to the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and the coordinated support of the Tripura Finance Department and the Government of India. “The projects undertaken by the Transport Department will be completed and dedicated to the public in the coming months,” he said.
