Amid the celebrations of Kojagari Lakshmi Puja, Tripura’s Anupam Das, a student and NSS volunteer from Ramthakur College, and Shyamal Dey, a teacher and NSS Programme Officer at Bani Vidyapith Higher Secondary Girls’ School, were honoured with the prestigious MY Bharat–National Service Scheme (NSS) Award 2022–23 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu in recognition of their outstanding contributions to social service and community development.
Anupam Das has actively worked in environmental conservation, including cleaning rivers, reservoirs, and canals, and has planted 540 trees to promote afforestation. His efforts reflect a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community welfare.
The MY Bharat–NSS Award, instituted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, recognises young individuals who have made remarkable contributions to nation-building, social service, and community development.
