Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday said Tripura is emerging as one of India's fastest-growing states, highlighting major infrastructure development, policy reforms and investment-friendly initiatives while inaugurating the Destination Tripura – Business Conclave 2026
Addressing investors, industrialists and business leaders, the Chief Minister said the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has doubled over the past six years, supported by significant investments in highways, railways, airports, internet connectivity, waterways and banking infrastructure. He said Tripura's abundant natural resources, skilled workforce and strategic location make it an attractive destination for domestic and global investors.
The conclave witnessed participation from over 700 delegates, with more than 250 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) expected to be signed, reflecting an investment intent exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore. The event also saw the participation of Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Piyush Goyal.
The Chief Minister highlighted investment opportunities across sectors including rubber, bamboo, agarwood, agriculture, fisheries, livestock, tea, tourism, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, logistics and information technology. He noted that Tripura has secured the top rank in deregulation and compliance reduction, introduced a single-window clearance system, simplified land-use procedures and developed a GIS-based digital land bank to facilitate investors.
Prof. Saha also underscored the state's strategic connectivity with Bangladesh through rail, road, waterways and the upcoming North East Gas Grid, describing Tripura as the gateway to Southeast Asia.
He said the government is committed to ensuring a business-friendly environment through transparent governance, digital administration and improved law and order. Inviting investors to partner in the state's development, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the investment proposals would translate into projects on the ground, accelerating the vision of 'Viksit Tripura' and contributing to Viksit Bharat'
