Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has urged the state administration to intensify rescue and relief operations as heavy rainfall continues to trigger flooding in West Tripura and several other parts of the state.

In a social media post on Sunday, Deb said he had spoken with officials and concerned authorities regarding the flood situation and stressed the need for prompt rescue operations in inundated areas.

He called for relief materials, essential supplies and administrative assistance to reach affected residents without delay, particularly those stranded in vulnerable and waterlogged areas.

Deb said the administration was taking necessary steps to tackle the situation and provide assistance to people affected by the floods. He also appealed to officials to closely monitor the situation and ensure that relief efforts reach those most in need.

At the same time, Deb urged residents to remain cautious amid continuing adverse weather conditions. He advised people to avoid entering flooded or vulnerable areas unnecessarily and to cooperate with the administration and emergency personnel.

He further appealed to the public to follow official advisories and safety instructions as heavy rainfall continues across parts of Tripura.
