Tripura Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath said today that everyone must increase tree plantation programs in a united manner to make the environment green and protect the world from global warming.
The Minister said this while attending a tree plantation program organized as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative by Chinmaya Harihar School and Mohanpur Municipal Council.
The Minister said that to save the world from global warming, everyone has to plant more trees, as global warming is on the rise.
He said global warming to a kind of fever that the world is suffering from, and informed that tree plantation is essential to cure this fever.
“Therefore, the Prime Minister has called for a tree plantation drive across the country, and everyone should come together to support this initiative. When we look at the world, we see that the human population has increased significantly, while the number of trees has decreased. As you know, the environment in Delhi is currently highly polluted. Hence, everyone needs to take part in such tree plantation programs in a united way to make the environment greener and to promote good health,” said the Minister.
He added that the school has earned a good name and reputation globally, and despite many hurdles, Mohanpur has finally got this school. Soon, a residential school will also be built here for underprivileged children.
The school authorities, Mohanpur Municipal Council Vice Chairman Shankar Deb, social worker Kartik Acharya, students, their guardians, and local residents were present at the event.
Upon arrival, a sapling was distributed to everyone so that they could plant it at home or in different places.
