Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today asserted that despite Tripura securing the top rank at the national level for effective implementation of development projects, there is no scope for complacency. He emphasized that all infrastructure and development works must be completed within stipulated timelines.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while chairing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat Conference Hall to assess the progress of major projects being implemented by various state departments.
Dr. Saha said that clear targets and strict timelines must be set for all infrastructure projects to ensure efficiency and accountability. Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat), he noted that infrastructure development plays a crucial role in achieving this goal.
“To align with the Prime Minister’s vision, development projects in Tripura must be implemented with well-defined objectives and deadlines. The involvement of expatriates in infrastructure development should also be encouraged, as it will motivate them to invest in the state’s industrial sector,” the Chief Minister said.
During the meeting, Dr. Saha reviewed the status of projects across departments, sought updates on implementation, and offered guidance and directions to ensure faster execution and improved outcomes.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Finance Secretary Apurba Roy, PWD Secretary Kiran Gitte, Urban Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Education Secretary Raval Hemendra Kumar, Rural Development Additional Secretary Kuntal Das, and senior officials from various departments presented detailed reports on ongoing development initiatives.
Director General of Police Anurag and Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. P. K. Chakraborty were also present at the meeting.
