A pall of grief has descended over Indira Panchayat in Sabroom following the sudden death of sharecropper Sanjib Das.

The tragic incident, which occurred a few days ago, drew immediate attention from the Chief Minister, who promptly instructed the district administration to take necessary action.

In accordance with the government’s directive, the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today personally handed over financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the late Sanjib Das’s wife, Bandana Das, during the “Mukhyamantri Samipeshu” outreach programme today. Additionally, one of their two daughters has been sanctioned a monthly allowance of Rs 4,000.

To ensure long-term security and to alleviate the family’s financial instability, the Chief Minister has also ordered the inclusion of the bereaved family under the Antyodaya scheme. This move will enable them to access various government benefits and social security programmes.

“We stand firmly beside this farmer’s family,” the Chief Minister stated, assuring that the government will extend all possible support to them during this difficult time.
