Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today said that Tripura has always been ahead in the Mann Ki Baat programme across the country, and people from all sections of society eagerly listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech.
He said that that Tripura is moving forward following the Prime Minister’s Marg Darshan (guidance).
The Chief Minister said this while listening to the 127th episode of Mann Ki Baat along with party workers at Takarjala.
Dr. Saha said, “Tripura is always ahead in the Mann Ki Baat programme across the country. It holds a very good position. Today, I came to Takarjala, a Janajati-dominated area, to listen to the Mann Ki Baat programme. This time, the 127th episode has been held here. Everyone has played a special role behind the success of the Mann Ki Baat programme in Tripura. People from all sections want to hear the Prime Minister’s speech.”
He further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi raises several important issues through Mann Ki Baat which no one had thought of earlier.
“Only then do people come to know about these matters. Many issues come to light through Mann Ki Baat. In today’s episode, the Prime Minister spoke on various topics — for example, he suggested collecting plastic properly and using it scientifically instead of throwing it everywhere. This is a very unique and thoughtful idea which we had never thought of or heard before. Therefore, the people of Tripura should definitely listen to the Mann Ki Baat programme,” Dr. Saha said.
The Chief Minister also responded to criticism from the opposition, saying, “The opposition often shouts, asking who listens to Mann Ki Baat and who watches it? I tell their leaders to come with me and see how many people listen to and watch Mann Ki Baat across the country — and how many do so in Tripura as well. People will not always listen to negative talk.”
“In this inspiring episode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and reminded us of his unparalleled contribution to the unity and integrity of our nation. He also called upon countrymen to collectively celebrate the greatness of the Vande Mataram song and share their thoughts through the hashtag #VandeMataram150,” he added.
During the event, BJP State Secretary Devid Debbarma and MDC Bhumika Nanda Reang were also present.
