In a tragic incident, the bodies of a young couple were found hanging early this morning in the Machima Luddhamura area under Jatrapur Police Station, sending shockwaves throughout the locality in Sepahijala district.
According to reports, Rakesh Mia had been working at a salon in Rangamara Market of Uttar Paharpur Gram Panchayat in Dhanpur Assembly area for several months. His residence was in Gangachara, Mathabari, Udaypur Subdivision. Nisha Mallik, who was also from the same area, had been in a romantic relationship with him for a long time.
The bodies were discovered around 7 a.m. near a canal in Guamura Para of South Paharpur Gram Panchayat. Jatrapur Police quickly rushed to the scene upon receiving the news.
Police have stated that the circumstances of the deaths appear unnatural and the scene is unusual, prompting a thorough investigation. Autopsies are being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
OC Siti Kanta Bardhan of Jatrapur Police Station confirmed that the bodies have been sent to Kathalia Social Health Center for post-mortem examination.
The local community remains in shock over the heartbreaking incident.
