A theft incident near the MBB Club area in Agartala has created a stir after an iPhone was allegedly stolen from the residence of a woman named Uttara Nath.

Following the complaint, a written FIR was lodged at Agartala East Police Station. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and immediately launched an investigation.

Addressing the media, Additional SP Dhrubanath said that based on specific intelligence inputs, police conducted a swift operation and detained the prime accused, Gopal Biswas, from the Rangamatiya area. The stolen iPhone was recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, police arrested two more alleged associates — Deep Saha and Dipak Das — in connection with the case. All three accused will be taken into police remand for further questioning. Investigators are also examining whether they were involved in any other theft cases.

Police officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken if necessary. While the incident initially caused concern in the locality, residents have expressed satisfaction over the prompt action taken by the police.
