Tripura Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy on Saturday inspected the ongoing construction of a 200-bed Youth Hostel at Ward No. 14 of the Kailashahar Municipal Council in Unakoti district. Senior officials of the concerned department accompanied the minister during the visit.
Speaking to reporters after the inspection, Roy said the government is working to complete the project at the earliest, with the aim of inaugurating the hostel during the upcoming Durga Puja. He directed officials to ensure that the construction is completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality.
The minister said the facility will provide accommodation for young participants visiting Kailashahar from different parts of the state to take part in sports, cultural, and youth development programmes. He added that the hostel will also strengthen the town’s capacity to host state-level events, training camps, and other youth-oriented activities.
Roy expressed confidence that the Youth Hostel, being developed under the state government's initiative, will emerge as an important infrastructure for promoting sports, youth engagement, and cultural activities in the region.
