In a stern message to government employees, South Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Muhammad Sajad P., IAS, has issued a directive addressing rising public complaints regarding misbehaviour and discourteous conduct by certain officials in the district.

Muhammad Sajad P., IAS, District Magistrate & Collector, South Tripura in an order said it has come to the notice that in certain offices under South Tripura District, there is a rise in public complaints regarding misbehaviour and lack of courteous conduct by Government Officers/Officials. 

“Such conduct is unbecoming of a government servant and undermines public trust in governance. The Tripura State Public Services Guarantee Act, 2014 mandates timely, efficient, and respectful delivery of public services. Further, the Tripura Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1988 clearly stipulate that every Government employee shall maintain high standards of courtesy, discipline, and professional behaviour in their dealings with the public. Any instance of rude behaviour, intentional delay, or denial of service without justified reason will be viewed seriously and shall attract strict disciplinary action”, the DM said.

He said that all citizens of South Tripura District are hereby informed that any complaint regarding misbehaviour or poor conduct of any Government Officer or Official may be lodged through the District Toll-Free Number 1077 or in Mobile No.6909358819.

“All Heads of Offices are requested to sensitize and brief their staff immediately on appropriate public behaviour, adherence to duty hours, and service delivery standards, ensure that a Grievance Register is maintained and monitored regularly in the Office of the District Magistrate & Collector, South Tripura and to ensure that all complaints received are addressed promptly and effectively. If any official is found to be in violation of these standards, disciplinary actions as per relevant Conduct Rules and Service Delivery Acts including warnings, suspensions, or initiation of departmental proceedings shall be initiated without delay”, the order said.
