Announcing the schedule at a press conference, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Brijesh Pandey said the revision exercise aims to make the electoral roll more accurate, transparent and updated by identifying and removing duplicate, shifted, deceased and ineligible entries while ensuring that every eligible citizen gets enrolled.

A total of 3,356 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 375 BLO Supervisors will be engaged across the state for the exercise, covering all 60 Assembly Constituencies and 3,356 polling stations. Tripura currently has around 28.97 lakh registered electors, including 14.52 lakh male and 14.45 lakh female voters.

The CEO informed that the house-to-house verification process will begin from September 15 and continue till October 14, 2026. During this period, BLOs will visit households to distribute pre-filled Enumeration Forms, assist voters in completing them and collect the submitted forms. Each household will receive three visits from the concerned BLO.

Voters will be required to verify their personal details, provide necessary information, sign the forms and submit them within the given deadline. The forms can also be submitted digitally through the online portal or the ECINET application.

Pandey clarified that no documents will be collected during the initial door-to-door enumeration process. If any verification is required later, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will issue notices after publication of the Draft Electoral Roll, giving concerned individuals an opportunity to provide necessary documents.

The Draft Electoral Roll will be published on October 21, 2026, following which citizens can submit claims and objections from October 21 to November 20. The final electoral roll will be released on December 23, 2026.

He further stated that Aadhaar may be used for identity verification but will not be considered proof of citizenship. Appeals against decisions of the ERO can be filed before the District Election Officer and subsequently before the Chief Electoral Officer under provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.

The CEO also highlighted that BLOs are undertaking self and family lineage mapping by linking current voters with the 2005 Electoral Rolls, which have already been uploaded on the official CEO Tripura website for public access.

He added that training programmes for election officials, BLOs, political parties and Booth Level Agents have been completed. Meetings with political parties are being conducted at state, district and sub-divisional levels, while helpdesks and toll-free services will remain available throughout the revision process.
