Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath today inspected the restoration and beautification work underway at the Tarasundari stream in the South Taranagar area in Mohanpur under the initiative of the Agriculture Department.
The Minister said that he visited the place today with officials of the department and local residents.
“The officials of the Agriculture Department presented the development plan for the stream and the surrounding area. As the restoration work of the stream begins, irrigation facilities will increase in the agricultural land, resulting in improved livelihoods for the farmers of the area. The locals are very happy with this initiative,” the Minister said.
He added that there are several water bodies in this area that have fallen into neglect.
Minister said that the government aims to develop the area with all modern facilities as it is near the national highway and would become a tourist spots.
The Minister informed that a park will be created where people can stroll, children will have designated play areas, and other recreational facilities will also be provided. Additionally, the project will focus on improving water conservation in the area.
He further emphasized that the project is expected to open new opportunities for the public, keeping in mind water conservation, environmental protection, and the recreational needs of the community.
