Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the kidney transplant treatment of Padma Shri awardee Chitta Maharaj of Shanti Kali Ashram.

According to Deb, the request for advanced medical treatment and kidney transplantation was brought to his notice, after which he promptly forwarded the application to the PMNRF authorities. He stated that the assistance was sanctioned within a short span of time.

The MP also mentioned that several similar appeals for critical medical treatment sent to the Prime Minister in the past had received compassionate consideration and timely approval.

Expressing gratitude, Deb thanked the Prime Minister for extending support to the respected spiritual leader during his medical emergency.
