A tragic incident occurred this morning at the under-construction campus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Jirania, where a pipe fitter lost his life after falling from a height.
According to a police official, the accident took place while the worker was engaged in routine duties on the construction site. Upon receiving the information, police personnel rushed to the spot and initiated necessary procedures. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
"The accident occurred while the worker was on duty. The team had been engaged in work at the site for quite some time," the official said, adding that further investigation is underway.
Authorities are yet to confirm whether adequate safety measures were in place at the time of the incident.
