Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the ideals of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay continue to inspire the nation and the state, especially in the fields of culture, tradition, and people-centric development.
Speaking at a program organized at Muktadhara Auditorium, Agartala, to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the Chief Minister described him as a visionary patriot and political thinker whose principles remain relevant today.
“Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was a keen politician and a true patriot who dedicated his life to the nation. The more one learns about him, the more enlightened one becomes. Like Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Swami Vivekananda, who also passed away young, his ideas continue to inspire generations,” Dr. Saha said.
He stressed that Deendayal Upadhyay always emphasized honesty in public life and inclusivity in development. “His message was that everyone should progress together, and the benefits of government schemes must reach the last person in society. This is the vision our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing today. We too are working in that direction,” he added.
Highlighting the state government’s initiatives, Dr. Saha said: “To ensure good governance, initiatives have been taken in two phases. The Amar Sarkar web portal was launched to address people’s everyday issues, particularly in rural areas. This is in line with Pandit Deendayal’s vision of empowering the common man.”
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency, the Chief Minister said, “Our government believes in delivering what it promises. This strengthens people’s trust in us. Today, citizens have confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is leading the nation forward by following the ideals of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal.”
Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya, Paschim Tripura Sabhadhipati-in-Charge Biswajit Shil, ICA Department Secretary PK Chakraborty, State Cultural Advisory Committee Vice Chairman Subrata Chakraborty, ICA Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya, along with other dignitaries and officials, were present at the event.
