In a significant development in the recent shooting incident at a contractor’s residence in Bishalgarh of Sepahijala district, police have arrested another key accused.
The arrested individual has been identified as Samardip Barman, also known as Sagar, who was apprehended from the Madhupur area by Bishalgarh police.
According to police sources, continuous search operations had been underway across multiple locations following the incident. The arrest of Samardip is being seen as a result of these intensified efforts.
However, the main accused in the case, Ranbir Debnath and Sohel, remain at large. Despite ongoing attempts by law enforcement, police have not yet been able to detain them.
It is reported that Sohel is a resident of Chandranagartilla (Ward No. 2) under the Bishalgarh ???????? constituency. Local residents have alleged that both Ranbir and Sohel are still moving around the area, managing to evade police action. This has led to growing fear and frustration among the public.
Police officials have stated that search operations have been further intensified to track down the absconding accused. Authorities expressed confidence that Ranbir Debnath and Sohel will be arrested soon.
