Thangwang Wangham, MLA of Longding Assembly Constituency, inspected the ongoing construction site of the Working Women’s Hostel at Longding. He was accompanied by Ranka Nani, Assistant Engineer (WRD – Water Resource Department), the contractor, and the land donor, as part of efforts to expedite the project’s progress.
The upcoming hostel aims to provide safe and comfortable accommodation for working women in the district, particularly those earning a monthly salary below ₹35,000. The facility will be a managed hostel with a warden, designed to support the growing working women community in Longding district.
Once completed, the project is expected to foster a positive working environment and work culture among women employees across various sectors. Similar initiatives are being implemented across the state to empower women and improve their living conditions.
MLA Wangham expressed his appreciation to Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and Minister for Women & Child Development Dasanglu Pul for launching such a progressive initiative. He emphasized the importance of such projects in enhancing women’s welfare and looked forward to more such initiatives in the future.
