Five day after a 18 year youth drowned in Dumboor, the floating body of the missing youth was recovered from the Dumbur Reservoir near the helipad area under Raishyabari Police Station at around 6:10 am on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Dharmajit Chakma (18), a resident of Bhaktapara area under Gandachhara Police Station, according to police sources.

It may be recalled that Dharmajit Chakma had gone missing on January 4 after he reportedly fell from a boat into the reservoir. Since then, an extensive search operation was carried out. Teams from the NDRF and divers conducted continuous search operations for 72 hours, but the youth could not be traced at that time.

On Friday morning, local residents noticed a body floating in the Dumbur Reservoir and immediately informed the police. Acting on the information, personnel from Raishyabari Police Station reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
