Tripura’s Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD) and SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Thursday urged Durga Puja organisers to refrain from collecting subscriptions from the public through forceful means.
In a message shared on Facebook, Minister Das stated, “While it is possible to construct grand Durga Puja pandals by compelling people to contribute or by stopping vehicles on the road, this is not the proper way to honor Goddess Durga. Durga Puja is a sacred festival of Hinduism, and the worship should be carried out in a sattvic manner, strictly following traditional rituals.”
He emphasized that the celebration should not cause inconvenience or distress to others, adding, “Your joy should never become the source of someone else’s unhappiness.”
Minister Das appealed to all Puja committees to maintain public peace and order, urging them to celebrate the upcoming festival harmoniously, ensuring it is auspicious and enjoyable for everyone.
