Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Sri Ramachandra Rao was formally sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court at a ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Agartala on Tuesday.

Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu administered the oath of office and secrecy to Justice Ramachandra Rao, who arrived in the state capital a day prior to the ceremony.

Justice Rao's elevation follows a key reshuffle in the Indian judiciary. He succeeds Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, who has been transferred to the Telangana High Court.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, and other senior officials and dignitaries.
