In a move aimed at strengthening aviation security and enhancing coordination between security forces, the Spear Corps of the Indian Army has launched a two-week specialised training programme for Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel deployed at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport, Agartala.

The 14-day training programme, which began on July 27, 2026, is being conducted at Agartala Military Station under the framework of Military-Civil Fusion. The initiative focuses on improving operational coordination, upgrading tactical preparedness, and strengthening protection mechanisms for critical aviation infrastructure.

During the training, Indian Army instructors will provide CISF personnel with expertise in areas including industrial and critical infrastructure security, vital area and vital point protection, quick reaction team drills, counter-drone operations, and threat mitigation strategies.

A representative overseeing the programme said that modern security challenges require a coordinated response from multiple agencies. The collaboration between the Indian Army’s tactical expertise and CISF’s specialised aviation security role is expected to further enhance the security preparedness of MBB Airport.

The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued efforts to build operational synergy with Central Armed Police Forces and improve the overall security framework of vital installations. After completing the training, CISF personnel will return to their airport duties with enhanced skills and improved readiness to counter emerging security threats.
