On Monday, the Meteorological Centre in Agartala issued an orange alert for parts of Tripura, warning of moderate thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds, and isolated heavy rainfall over the next two days.

As per the latest weather bulletin for April 27–28, districts such as Khowai and West Tripura are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of 50–60 kmph at isolated locations. These weather conditions may also result in heavy rainfall in some areas.

The alert will remain in place from April 28–29 as well, with similar conditions expected to continue in Khowai and West Tripura. The orange alert indicates a higher risk of adverse weather that could cause disruptions.

Meanwhile, other districts in the state have been placed under a yellow alert. Though less severe, it still points to the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of similar intensity in isolated areas.

The Meteorological Centre is closely monitoring the situation and has advised residents to stay informed through official updates and take necessary precautions.
