In a shocking incident late Wednesday night, unknown miscreants destroyed crops belonging to farmer Uttam Saha in the area near North Charilam of Tripura's Sepahijala district along the banks of the Rangapania River, adjacent to the Ramakrishna Ashram.
According to local sources, the perpetrators entered Uttam Saha’s cultivated fields under the cover of darkness and damaged the crops. The next morning, the farmer was left stunned upon seeing the ruined fields. Uttam Saha alleged that the act appeared to be premeditated, causing him significant financial loss.
News of the incident quickly spread, creating panic and concern in the local community. Residents have demanded that the culprits be identified swiftly and punished severely.
Uttam Saha said, “My family depends entirely on these crops for our livelihood. Destroying them under the cover of night has left me devastated.”
Authorities have been informed, and the farmer is preparing a formal written complaint. The police have confirmed that they are investigating the matter.
