Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman today inaugurated the Prabhat Ferry organized in front of Ujjayant Palace to mark the 58th Engineers’ Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna M. Visvesvaraya.
Addressing the gathering, Barman described Visvesvaraya as a visionary engineer and one of the architects of modern India.
He said that Visvesvaraya’s ideals of hard work, discipline, and innovative thinking continue to inspire the nation’s journey towards industrialization and progress.
The Minister emphasized that engineers play a crucial role in nation-building through the development of infrastructure such as dams, railways, and roads.
He urged engineers to lead the mission of building Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and contribute significantly to realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of Digital India and Start-up India.
The programme was jointly organized by the Public Department of Works and The Institution of Engineers, Tripura State Branch. Among those present were Rajiv Debbarma, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department, and Paramanand Sarkar Banerjee, OSD Engineer to the Chief Minister.
