A series of daring burglaries took place at Lembuchhara Market under Mohanpur Subdivision on Monday late night, raising fresh concerns about security in the area.

A group of unidentified thieves reportedly broke into four shops and fled with cash and valuable goods.

According to sources, the burglars targeted the market late at night. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when shop owners opened their establishments and discovered the thefts. They immediately informed the police at Lembuchhara Outpost, who have since launched an investigation into the matter.

The affected establishments include a garment shop owned by Pintu Bhattacharya, grocery stores run by Rekha Banerjee and Gopal Baidya, and a government-run ration shop. Preliminary estimates suggest that goods and cash worth over one lakh rupees were stolen in total.

The consecutive burglaries have sparked anger among local traders. Business owners have alleged inadequate security arrangements in the market area and have demanded a more proactive role from the police administration to prevent such incidents in the future.
