The Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested three persons and seized cannabis worth around Rs 4 lakh from Agartala Railway Station.
According to police sources, the operation was carried out late on Saturday night. The arrested individuals have been identified as Neeraj Kumar (26) of Bihar, Jyoti Kumari (25) of Uttar Pradesh, and Hashna Begum (26) of Assam. A total of 29.140 kg of contraband ganja was recovered from their possession.
“The value of this ganja in the black market is about ?4 lakh. The accused were transporting the consignment to Bihar,” police officials said.
A specific case has been registered under Agartala GRPS Case No. 2025GRP086, U/S-20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
