Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today emphasized that the state government is committed to the welfare of the people and has achieved significant development, which was acknowledged by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu in his address on the first day of the Assembly session.
Reacting to this year’s budget, Dr. Saha said, “The budget is designed with the common people in mind. It reflects our plans for the coming year, the development projects we intend to undertake, and how resources will be allocated.”
He clarified that while the detailed budget has not yet been tabled, discussions on its specifics will follow.
Dr. Saha appreciated the Governor’s use of languages in his speech. “It was heartening to see the Governor begin in Kokborok, then continue in Bengali and English. This beautifully reflects our unity in diversity,” he said.
Highlighting the Governor’s remarks, Dr. Saha added, “The Governor rightly acknowledged the achievements of the state government. Many of these initiatives are already familiar to the people. During his speech, MLAs from the treasury bench expressed their support. The Governor also noted that he only touched upon the main highlights, while the government has accomplished much more. A detailed discussion will follow, and both the opposition and treasury bench will have the opportunity to participate.”
Speaking on the newly elected Speaker, Dr. Saha urged everyone to extend their support to MLA Ram Pada Jamatia. “He hails from the Janajati community and brings extensive political experience, including having served as a former minister. It is important for all members to support him in his new role,” he said.
