Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Special Director General (Eastern Command), Border Security Force (BSF), Kolkata, concluded a three-day visit to Tripura on Wednesday after reviewing the security situation and operational preparedness along the Indo–Bangladesh border.

Accompanied by Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Inspector General, BSF Tripura Frontier, the Special DG visited several Border Out Posts (BOPs) in the districts of Khowai, Dhalai, and Unakoti on October 28 and 29. During the visit, he assessed the security arrangements and interacted with officers and troops deployed in forward areas.

Mr. Aggarwal also presided over a Prahari Sammelan, where he listened to the operational and administrative challenges faced by BSF personnel. He commended their professionalism, dedication, and vigilance in maintaining the sanctity of the international border under challenging conditions.

To further boost troop morale, the SDG stayed overnight at one of the remote Border Out Posts and participated in a Prahari Bhoj, sharing a meal with the troops and acknowledging their commitment to duty.

Emphasizing the need for constant alertness and coordination, Mr. Aggarwal lauded the efforts of BSF Tripura Frontier in ensuring effective border management.

The Special DG concluded his visit and departed for Kolkata on the evening of October 29, 2025.
