BJP’s national spokesperson, Northeast in-charge, and Member of Parliament Dr. Sambit Patra arrived in Tripura today.

He was warmly received at the MBB Airport by MLA Bhagaban Das and several other party leaders. Upon his arrival, Dr. Patra met with BJP state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee to discuss key organizational matters.

His visit comes at a time when Tripura’s political atmosphere is charged with tension. Several incidents of conflict have recently surfaced between the ruling party and its ally, Tipra Motha.

Even within the ruling party, internal rifts have come out in the open.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has reportedly pointed fingers at Tipra Motha for some of the recent disturbances, further escalating the situation. In this context, Dr. Patra’s visit is being seen as highly significant, with political observers suggesting it may be aimed at addressing both intra-party issues and coalition challenges ahead of upcoming political developments.
