Acting on a tip-off, the Government Railway Police (GRP) today arrested one Bangladeshi national and two Indian brokers at Agartala railway station in a joint late-night operation involving the Agartala GRP, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and the Intelligence Department.

According to GRP Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das, the arrested individuals had illegally entered India from Bangladesh and were at the railway station intending to travel to Delhi.

The arrested have been identified as Jheel Mill (63), a resident of Khulna district, Bangladesh; Sagar Mandal (23) from South Gangutia, under Lefunga Police Station, West Tripura; and Subrata Das from Rangutia Patar Bazar, West Tripura, both Indian brokers.

Officer-in-Charge Das revealed that Subrata Das had previously been arrested by Agartala GRP for a similar offense about five months ago and was out on bail.

He has now been detained again on the same charges.

During initial questioning, the trio admitted to planning to board a train to Delhi. Further interrogation is underway at the Agartala GRP police station.

A case has been registered, and the accused will be presented before the court
