The Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD) of Tripura has registered an impressive 98 percent implementation rate of its planned activities during the 2025-26 financial year, Animal Resources Development Minister Sudhangshu Das said on Monday.

The Minister made the remarks after presiding over the department’s first review meeting for the 2026-27 financial year. The meeting was attended by departmental Secretary Deepa D. Nair and Director Neeraj Kumar Chanchal, among other officials.

Addressing the media, Das said the review focused on evaluating the department’s performance during the previous financial year, including the execution of welfare schemes, fund utilization, achievements, and challenges encountered during implementation.

He noted that the department conducts two review meetings annually to assess progress under both state and centrally sponsored programmes. The exercise helps identify gaps, monitor implementation, and formulate strategies for effective delivery of services and benefits to beneficiaries.

The Minister stated that the department will prepare a comprehensive roadmap to ensure that funds allocated under various schemes in the current financial year are utilized efficiently and that benefits reach eligible citizens without delay. He emphasized that timely and transparent implementation of welfare initiatives remains a key priority for the government.

Das also highlighted the inauguration of a new departmental building, saying it would help improve administrative efficiency and accelerate official work.

Stressing the importance of accountability, he urged departmental officials to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and commitment. While expressing satisfaction over the department’s overall performance, he acknowledged that some infrastructure and construction-related projects experienced delays due to procedural requirements such as tendering processes and seasonal constraints.

“Despite certain challenges in construction activities, the department has achieved substantial success across various sectors. Our objective now is to expand the reach of ARD schemes and ensure that a greater number of people benefit from them in the coming year,” the Minister said.
