Tension has reportedly surfaced in Longtharai Valley over an alleged attempt to encroach upon government land belonging to Machli Primary Health Centre.

According to local residents, on the morning of August 21, an attempt was allegedly made to occupy a portion of the government land by clearing bushes and vegetation without informing the health centre authorities.

Locals have alleged that the name of Shibu Dhar has surfaced in connection with the incident. They further claimed that there are no valid documents establishing private ownership of the land in question.

Residents said that, according to government records and land registers maintained by the Tehsildar, the land is registered in the name of Machli Primary Health Centre. They questioned how any individual could attempt to occupy or undertake construction activities on government land without valid ownership documents.

The locals further alleged that vegetation and jungle were being cleared from the disputed area and preparations were allegedly underway to construct a shop there. The reported activities on land earmarked for the health centre have triggered resentment among local residents.

Residents have urged the administration to intervene immediately to protect government property and safeguard the designated land of Machli Primary Health Centre. They have also demanded verification of the official land records, an investigation into the alleged encroachment and appropriate legal action if the allegations are found to be true.

The local community is now awaiting the response of the administration and the concerned land authorities regarding the actual ownership and status of the land and what steps will be taken in connection with the alleged encroachment.
