With the Durga Puja festival approaching, Agartala is making arrangements for the post-festival idol immersion. Today, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumdar visited the Dashamighat area to review preparations for the upcoming event.
Mayor Majumdar pointed out that Dashamighat sees the largest crowd during Durga Puja due to the high number of idol immersions. “All necessary steps will be taken to ensure a smooth and orderly idol removal this year,” he stated.
He further emphasized that the AMC will actively manage key aspects, including lighting, security, cleanliness, and traffic control. Coordination with other administrative departments will also be ensured to minimize inconvenience for residents.
Reaffirming the Corporation’s commitment, Mayor Majumdar assured that every effort would be made to conduct the immersion process peacefully and efficiently, upholding Agartala’s tradition of safe and well-organized celebrations.
