Tripura Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government in Tripura, accusing it of systematically dismantling the future of the state's youth by pushing them towards drug abuse and unlawful activities.
Addressing a youth convention organized by the Left Front’s student and youth wings, Chaudhury, who recently became a member of the CPIM Polit Bureau, said the situation for young people in Tripura has become bleak under the current regime.
"Across the country and in Tripura, the future of our youth is under threat. The BJP, along with its allies IPFT and Tipra Motha, has halted all avenues of employment. Instead of creating opportunities, they are driving young people into addiction and crime. It’s a deliberate ploy to ruin the next generation," he alleged.
Chaudhury said student bodies such as the TSF, SFI, and DYFI are actively mobilizing against this "destructive agenda" and are committed to safeguarding the interests of the youth.
“These organisations are on the ground, resisting the anti-youth policies of the state government. Statewide conventions are being planned to unite people and chart a collective path to save our youth and our state from this downward spiral,” he added.
