The Tripura unit of BJP Yuva Morcha has strongly refuted the allegations of rising unemployment levelled by the youth wing of the CPI(M), terming the claims as “politically motivated and baseless.”
Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP state headquarters in Agartala on Tuesday, BJP MLA and state Yuva Morcha president Sushanta Deb accused the Left party of attempting to mislead the youth and tarnish the image of the ruling government.
“The CPI(M) is spreading falsehoods because they cannot digest the development-centric governance of the BJP,” Deb said, responding to a recent press briefing by the Left’s youth front. The latter had criticised the BJP-led state government for failing to curb unemployment, irregular job appointments, and a rise in drug addiction among the youth.
Deb dismissed these concerns, stating that the BJP government has prioritized transparency and accountability in recruitment. “Unlike the previous Left regime that used unemployed youth merely for political rallies, the BJP is focused on creating real opportunities through infrastructure development and skill-based schemes,” he said.
He further claimed that during the CPI(M)’s tenure between 2002 and 2010, not a single unemployed youth was meaningfully absorbed into government service.
Highlighting ongoing government initiatives, Deb added that several employment-focused projects and training programmes are being rolled out under the BJP, aimed particularly at empowering the youth and improving job prospects.
“The Left is clearly frustrated by the progress Tripura is witnessing. Their propaganda will not stand against the truth of our development work,” he concluded.
